Fluktuation II: Wo bist du Licht!
Darkness and harmonies, silence and rays, noise and blindness, rhythm and architecture.
In the second part of Fluktuation 09, the Swiss artist Yann Becker, together with Kaleidoskop, stages a concert in which music and light are linked. Music and light. Both surround, penetrate and change us and our reality. On stage, music and light construct time and space.
The compositions in Wo bist du Licht! open up a spectrum of sound colors in which light becomes living and creative matter. The music leads from the aura of Haydn's Symphony No. 7 Le Midi to the disorientation and violence in the titular work Wo bist du Licht! by Claude Vivier to the intoxicating, psychedelic sounds of Jan St. Werner. In between, solo works by Salvatore Sciarrino move at the boundaries of the audible. Different light installations spring from the music and interact with it. The light follows its own score, as it were.
